Yantis Owls Win and Lady Owls
Lose in Double-Overtime
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a great night for basketball, as the Yantis Owls hosted the Lone Oak Buffaloes and the Lady Owls hosted the Lady Gators from Dallas Gateway. Fast paced action kept the stands on their feet for most of the night, as the Lady Owls went into double-overtime before being defeated by the Lady Gators. "It was a tough, tough loss, but the girls played hard and kept coming back," expressed Yantis Girls Coach, Tina Carillo. "It just didn't work out for us in the end!"
Shelby Allen, #20, was the leading scorer for the Lady Owls, and one of her
three-point shots put the game into overtime.

The Yantis Owls came out and commanded an early lead and kept those hopes alive throughout the game, as they played their aggressive style of basketball and kept everyone "jumping" in their seats. The final score was Yantis 74 and Lone Oak 52, with Yantis delivering a decisive win over the Buffaloes.

The Yantis Owls and Lady Owls will both see action in the Cap Herman Invitational Tournament, hosted in Sulphur Bluff on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!
Go Owls and Lady Owls!!!
