Fans who traveled to Yantis on Friday night, definitely got their money's worth, when they paid admission to the Owl and Lady Owl games. The Lady Owls hosted Quinlan Boles in a match-up that saw the Lady Owls take a commanding lead during the first period and force the Quinlan Boles team to attempt to play "catch-up" throughout the match. In the end, the Lady Owls mustered a 49-33 lead to take the win, for the night! Three-point shooting by Lady Owl senior Shelby Allen, led the Lady Owls in the scoring column for the night.

It was a different story, when the Emory Rains Wildcats, backed by a host of fans, crossed Lake Fork, to play the Yantis Owls. The Emory Rains Team was evenly matched with the Owls and forced the Owls to "pull-out" their best game and carry it throughout the night. As the score see-sawed back and forth throughout the game, every point and every play was important.

The game finally came down to strategic coaching and "a little bit of luck," as the Owls pulled the game out 51-50, in the last minute of the game.

The crowd was on their feet for much of the fourth quarter, with every possession important. "It doesn't get much better playing than this," commented one Yantis fan, following the game. "Of course, we've been on the other end of these one-point games, already this season, and it isn't quite so fun, when you're on the other side!"

Congratulations to the Yantis Owls on a great game and one that kept the fans in the game until the last second of play!
