Winner at Yantis Athletic Banquet

It was a night of outstanding accomplishments for Yantis Owls and Lady Owls as the annual 2010 Yantis Athletic Banquet honored those individuals who excelled this year in sports.

Senior Tony Garcia was selected for the prestigious "Fighting Heart" Award, for his untiring efforts and leadership on and off the basketball court. He was also named Co-Offensive Player of the Year, by his coaches, for his team contributions.

Other basketball awards were as follows:

                                        Matthew Crayton - Co-Defensive Player of the Year

                                        Allen Rose - First Team All-District

                                        Ty Davis - 2nd Team All-District

                                        Shelby Allen - First Team All-District

                                        Blanca Reyna - 2nd Team All-District

Other winners included:

                                       Chris Bowman - First Team All-District - Baseball

                                       Allen Rose - Regional Competition in Discus

Outstanding individuals in each sport were recognized for their many achievements, at the banquet held on May 14th, in the school cafetorium.
