Receives Citation

"Healing Wounds....Changing Lives" is the motto at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Wound Care Unit and staff was awarded a citation for their outstanding performance for the third straight year. "I want to commend you on your outstanding service to the Hopkins County and surrounding community, as you go about your daily duties of caring for people," expressed Jim Henry, Chairman of Diversified Clinical Services, as he presented the award, on Friday morning. "The Center of Distinction Award is reserved for those departments that excell and you have certainly excelled in meeting the needs of your patients!"
Henry outlined the four criteria areas for receiving the award:
1. Median Days to Heal - admissions to discharge, company standard is 47.4 days and the local unit's average was 24 days.
2. Outlying Patient Care - Those treated beyond 14 weeks, company standard 32.4%, local unit only 24%.
3. Patient Satisfaction - company standard 91%, local unit 97.2%.
4. Percentage Healed - company standard 79.5%, the local unit had a 95% rate.

The local unit is one of 310 centers in 42 states, that treats and cares for individual patients, through the company, and received excellent marks on their performance.
"I can't commend you enough on your continued performance, as you are working to make this unit one of the top in the entire nation," continued Henry. "All I can say is, to keep doing what you are doing!"
