Wildcats Host Terrell in Scrimmage,
Friday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
The Sulphur Springs Wildcats hosted the Terrell Tigers in the final scrimmage of the season, on Friday night, in Gerald Prim Stadium, before a crowd of parents and fans, as they get ready to take on, Denton Ryan, next Friday night, in the opening game of the season, here at home.
"It gave us a final opportunity to see how some of the work we'd done all week made a difference," expressed Head Coach Greg Owens. "Certainly, we did some good things and then we found some holes in our system that we'll come back and work on this next week. It's a building process that we've got to make adjustments and focus on those key elements to get things right!"
The Wildcats found a formidable opponent in the Tigers, that allowed them to see just how their plays would work and found a team that had plenty of plays to execute, as well. "They kept us on our toes and allowed both our defense and offense to see how we measured up," continued Owens. "That's the reason we scheduled Terrell for this scrimmage, was we knew that they'd show us where our weaknesses were and allow us to make the necessary changes, before the season got started!"
