Wildcat Band Names Walker
and Surber, Sweetheart and Beau

As senior members of the band, both Walker, left, and Surber were dressed as "Elvis Look Alikes"
for the special senior presentation of the "Memphis Show" that entertained at halftime, Friday night.

 

It was Sulphur Springs High School seniors, Sara Walker and Blaine Surber, that were selected to be the Wildcat Band Sweetheart and Beau, for 2010. The announcement was made during halftime activities at Friday night's football match-up with T-High. The announcement was a part of the annual Senior Night activities at Gerald Prim Stadium.

 

 

Sara Walker is a member of the SSHS Gladys Alexander Chapter of the National Honor Society and serves as secretary her senior year. She was selected for the All-Region Wind Ensemble Band for 2008-09 and 2009-10, and the Area Band for 2009-10. She went to state in Solo and Ensemble in both 2008-09 and 2009-10. Her future plans include attending Ouachita Baptist University, following high school graduation.

 

 

 

 

 

Blaine Surber, the 2010 Band Beau, serves as Drum Major of the Wildcat Band, his senior year, and is serving as SSHS Student Council Vice-President. Watch for him as "Ike Skidmore" in the upcoming Theater Department production of Oklahoma, opening later this month. Blaine is also a member of the SSHS National Honor Society and is a member and officer of the SSHS Key Club. He is looking forward to attending Baylor University, in the fall of 2011.
