

Preparing Your Landscape For Drought

Getting your landscape ready for drought can be challenging. To help us understand how to garden and design landscapes ready for low rain weather conditions, the hopkins county extension office will deliver a workshop in landscape water conservation techniques January 21, 2010 starting at 9:00 AM at the Professional Ag Workers Building in Sulphur Springs. The workshop was coordinated by the Hopkins County Master Gardeners. Dotty Woodsoon, water landscape specialist for Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Dallas will share with us six training hours in proper plant selection, irrigation system design, water conservation and rain water harvesting. Nursery employees, landscape professionals, home owners and public in general are encouraged to attend. The cost of $25 will cover the training fees and lunch. Continuing education credit hours for landscape professionals, nursery professionals and Master Gardeners will be granted.
