UPRA Rodeo Finals Offer Rough Action
and Tough Competition

Rodeo action at its finest has been featured at every performance of the UPRA Rodeo Finals that are unfolding this weekend in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, with three performances.  The third performance and the naming of the champions in each event will be featured first with a rodeo performance beginning at 2:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon, and then the presentation dinner and awards, following the performance, in the Civic Center Exhibit Hall. Cowboys and cowgirls from all across the area came to the Sulphur Springs Finals with accumulated points in their respective events, and are hoping to secure their positions or to move up in the standings, as they compete in the three performances offered in conjunction with the finals competition.

Performances are offered on Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon.

From the ever popular bull riding event, to saddle bronc, bareback bronc, Ranch rodeo bronc riding, steer wresting, breakaway roping for the ladies, tie-down calf roping, team roping, and barrel racing, the top 15 in each event is competing against each other for the coveted first place saddles, that will be awarded to the top individual in each event. The saddles have been sponsored by local businesses here in Hopkins County.

With the top 15 individuals in each event, the competition is "keen" and as promised, the stock contractors have provided some of the best rodeo stock to challenge the top performers, as they compete in the finals.

If you haven't made it out to the Civic Center, make certain that you "catch" the action, on Sunday afternoon.
