"Reduced to brick and mortar"... the home located at 204 West Oaks Circle, received heavy damage
in the Tuesday afternoon explosion and fire.

 

Extensive damage was received by a home located at 204 West Oaks Circle, on Tuesday afternoon. Local firemen received the call at the address at 1:05 p.m. and were on the scene until 3:57 p.m. "We are investigating the heating system in the home," advised Fire Marshal Gerry Cleaver. "There was definitely something that exploded in the structure!"

Neighbors reported a loud explosion and fire engulfing the home shortly afterward. "It blew the brick off the home, as it exploded!" explained one neighbor. "Curtains and glass from windows were blow into the street!"

The occupants of the residence on West Oaks Circle, Jerry and Karen Wood, were not at home, at the time of the explosion and fire.

Local utilities check neighboring homes and sewage systems to insure it was contained in this one location. "It caused quite a stir in our neighborhood," explained a local neighbor.

 

 

Additionally, local firefighters responded to a fire at 2:20 a.m., Wednesday morning, at 1871 Woodside Lane, and remained on the scene until 5:32 a.m. The occupants of the home woke up and smelled smoke. The fire originated in the garage area and the three occupants escaped from the structure by knocking out an air conditioning unit. Another occupant escaped by another route.
