For Hopkins County Commissioner Precinct 2

Trey Hinton of the Reilly Springs Community announced, Wednesday, December 2nd, his candidacy for Commissioner of Precinct 2 in the Republican primary.

In announcing his candidacy, Mr. Hinton said, “As a life long resident of Hopkins County I have always been willing to serve my community. I want to help the county develop in a responsible manner.  I love this area and want to ensure that the county government has strong and decisive leadership.  Currently there are procedures in place that are working well, but there are others that need to be improved.  The citizens of Hopkins County deserve a conservative leader that will be responsible with their tax dollars.  Fiscal responsibility and smart management is what I will provide the county residents.  I will make every effort to make county government less intrusive and keep taxes at a responsible level.  I believe county government should be transparent.  I will be accountable to the citizens of the precinct and the county.  I will serve with diligence to provide the citizens of Hopkins Count and their children with a safe place to live and prosper.”

Hinton, age 32, was born and raised on a Holstein dairy farm in the Reilly Springs Community.  Today, he owns and manages that dairy farm.  Trey graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and attended North East Texas Community College studying Dairy Science. He has served as a voting delegate for the Southeast Region of Dairy Farmers of America.

Trey currently serves as President of JNA Transport, which is responsible for the hauling of raw milk in Texas and the southeastern United States.  He also owns and manages rental property in Hopkins County.  As a business man, he knows what it takes to operate within a budget and to manage a successful workforce.

Trey has been married to the former Andi Stewart for 10 years.  Andi teaches 1st grade at Travis Elementary.  They have 2 children, Hallie, 6 years old, and Wayne IV, 4 years old.  They are members of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church where Trey serves as an usher.

Trey said, “I am blessed with a wonderful family and I strive to make our home the most secure and comfortable place that I can provide.  It is my desire that our children will be able to have the same opportunities that Andi and I, and our friends, had growing up in Hopkins County with the freedom to direct their own futures.”
