located on Arbala Road, as they attended weekend competition events.

It was "keen" competition and the grace and smoothness of a cutting horse, that had local and those from as far away as Virginia and Tennessee, in Hopkins County, over the weekend. They were here competing in the Texas Star Ranch Cutting Horse Competition at the Texas Star Ranch, located on Arbala Road, south of Sulphur Springs.

"We had some outstanding scores and really quality runs," advised one of the participants at the event. "There was some great horseflesh at this competition and the temperatures were great, making it a great experience for everyone, especially those owning the winning horses."

Competition was in the pro and amateur classes.

"The cattle, for the most part worked good, and we were able to show our horses' talent," advised another participant. "Oh, occasionally you'd get a 'flighty' calf, but that's to be expected and just happens with the luck of the draw!"

"There were several scores in the high 80's and that's indicative of the great horses that were here for the competition!" inserted another participant.
