Littlefield-McMahan Team Takes
2009 World Champion Stew Title, Saturday

For many of us, it was up bright and early on Saturday morning, and by the time we got to Buford Park the smell of smoke was already in the air and stew pots were simmering, before 7:00.

"I think everything went just great!" exclaimed members of the Chamber of Commerce Stew Committee. "I can't imagine how muddy it would have been, if we hadn't moved the contest 'up the hill' to Buford Park. We had enough mud, with the move, imagine what it would have been like downhill?"

 

And, everyone seemed to find the new location and attendance was at an alltime record, as visitors from far and wide made their way back home for friendship and a bowl of stew. "We make it back home every year for the stew contest," exclaimed one woman who now makes her home in Georgia. It just wouldn't be right, not to have a fix of stew, to start the autumn season!"
