Wildcats Remain "Alive" With
Victory in Hallsville, Friday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
It was a long road trip for the Wildcats and their fans, to Hallsville on Friday night, as the chance to advance to the play-offs was on the line, and the local team was in a "must win" situation, after losing to Longview, T-High, and Marshall. Well, the Wildcats, although having a "lack-lustre" start in the game, made an impressive showing in the second half of the game, and brought home a victory, to continue their advancement in Class 4-A football.
Following several turnovers by both the Wildcats and Hallsville, during the first half of play, the score was tied 3-3, at the halftime intermission. However, the Wildcats came out for the second half with a different look and began making plays happen. They scored a field goal and three touchdowns during the second half. The Hallsville Bobcats could only manage fourteen points in the second half, thus the final score was 27-17.
The Wildcats will face Lindale, next Friday night, in the first game of post season activity, as they meet them in Van.
