A regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held on Monday,

October 12, 2009.

 

PUBLIC FORUM

 

A public meeting was held regarding the district’s financial management report including the final 2009 FIRST rating (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.)  Miki Eddins reported that the school district received a Superior Achievement rating.

 

 

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

 

Educational Performance of Bilingual/ESL Program for 2008-2009.

 

Red Ribbon Week activities.

 

Richard Crump, Claycomb Associates, Architects, gave a presentation of plans for the new Middle School campus and reviewed the schedule for the multi-purpose building.

 

 

ACTION ITEMS

 

Along with routine matters, the board approved the following:

 

Resolution 6-09 sanctioning the Hopkins County 4-H organization as eligible for extracurricular status.

 

Adjunct Faculty Agreement with the Texas Cooperative Extension Office.

 

Continuance of existing Resolution regarding Extracurricular Status of 4-H Organization and Adjunct Faculty appointments with the local Texas Cooperative Extension Office.

 

Resolution 7-09 electing Robert VanWinkle, Sr. to serve as a representative on the Hopkins County Appraisal District Board of Directors for the term beginning January 1, 2010 and ending on December 31, 2011.

 

Campus Improvement Plans for the 2009-2010 school year.
