SSISD Board Meets

A regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held on Monday, December 14, 2009.

 

PUBLIC FORUM

 

Dawn Doyle, SSHS Theatre Arts, was recognized by the Board for the recent production of “Beauty & The Beast.”

 

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

 

Judy Caskey, CIT Consultant, gave a progress report of the Campus Intervention Team (CIT).

 

Betty Lawson conducted a Public Hearing and gave a district Performance Report on the Academic Excellence Indicator System for the 2008-2009 school year.

 

Betty Lawson & Kay McClure gave a report on the Title I ARRA/Stimulus Funds and Special Education ARRA/Stimulus Funds.

 

A preliminary report on board member training credit hours was given.

 

Randy Reed gave a progress report on No Child Left Behind.  SSISD has 100% highly qualified staff.

 

Reed presented Texas Association of School Boards Localized Policy Manual Update 86.

 

A report was given of the successful Federal Head Start Review.  No potential areas of non-compliance were found.

Proposal from CNC Audio/Video, Inc. for installation of Promethean Boards at various campuses.
