Ten Students Headed For State Competition!!!

The Sulphur Springs UIL Academic Team traveled to Denton this past weekend to compete for Regional at the University of North Texas. The State Academic Meet will be held on May 7 through May 8 in Austin, ten students qualified and are preparing for state.

 

The Accounting Team earned first place, who consisted of Jace Orren, Syndi Nguyen, Kyle Mathes and Mallorie Taylor. Jace Orren individually placed first, along with Syndi Nguyen in third and Kyle Mathes in fourth.

 

Ashley Clegg, Silvia Gudino, Lyndsi Bible and Andrew Wallace were all on the Spelling and Vocabulary Team, they also placed first at the Regional Meet, with Ashley Clegg earning sixth placed individually.

 

The Literary Criticism Team consisting of Jessica Cowley, Leah Hayes, Emily Mason and Katy Mason placed third at the meet with Katy Mason placing second and Emily Mason placing sixth individually.

 

Cole Cable earned fourth place in Social Studies and Courtne Anderson placed third in Computer Applications
