Thirty-eight new members were inducted into the Gladys Alexander Chapter of the National Honor Society, at Sulphur Springs High School, on Monday night, before a large crowd of family and friends. The candlelight ceremony was conducted by officers and Chapter President, Lyndsi Bible, presided over the evening's induction. Other officers participating in the ceremony included: Brittney Woolley, Vice-President; Kelsey Brown, Secretary; and Coby Steele; Treasurer. Mrs. Gina Wilder and Miss Gail Herman are chapter advisors. Principal John McCullough, also participated in the ceremony and congratulated students, as they were added to the rolls of the national honorary society, that promotes scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

 

 

 

Second year members include: Lyndsi Bible, Kelsey Brown, Cole Cable, Hannah Carrington, Paul Clark, Kate Cody, Miranda Conway, Callie Dennis, Caleb Frazier, Nathanael Gonzalez, Andrew Gregory, Josh Halcomb, Justine Hatley, Travis Hicks, Tyler Higginbotham, Deonne Hopper, Melanie Hudson, Rosalynn Karstens, Autumn Keiss, Rodrigo Larios, Maurie Lewis, Sam Long, Michelle Malone, Spencer Martin, Katy Mason, Morgan Meade, Taylor Moore, Cody Morgan, Jace Orren, Juana Perez, Kayla Phillips, Sara Nelson, Lindsay Ramey, Aracelli Resendiz, Johnrobin Rivera, Coby Steele, Andrew Wallace, Daci West, Brittney Woolley, and Brad Worsham.

 

Club officers conducted the candlelight ceremony.

 

Senior member, Andrew Wallace, led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and officers lit the candles for the club's purposes. Members of the audience who were former members of the society were also recognized.

Junior inductees recited the NHS Pledge.

 

New members recited the pledge as follows: "I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected. I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; and I will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character."
