Sulphur Springs FFA Officers
Planning For Busy Year

by: Bobby McDonald

The new school year has begun and Sulphur Springs FFA Officers have been busy all summer making plans for an exciting and busy year of activities for members of the chapter. "We plan on participating in a number of leadership contests, livestock shows, ag mechanics shows, and judging competitions, as well as a number of fun activities, as well," denoted Jackson Massey, President of the Sulphur Springs FFA. "The officers attended a Leadership Training Camp in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, where we planned the chapter activities and enjoyed rafting on the river! We even managed to get Mrs. Norris, one of our chapter advisors to raft with us! It'll be an experience that she'll never forget!"

Sulphur Springs FFA is conducting their membership drive this year, with hopes of setting a record number of members for the chapter this year. "We're  hosting a hamburger dinner during lunch, this Friday, for those who have already signed up for membership," explained Chapter Vice-President, Colton Froneberger.

"Then, we have our first FFA meeting of the year on September 21st, where we will have another cook-out!" inserted Chapter Treasurer, Talon Bell. "We like hamburgers!"

Members of the officers team have already signed up for the various leadership training teams and are encouraging other members to participate, in this year's contest. Contests include: Chapter Conducting, Radio and Communications, Skills Teams, Creed Speaking, and other contests that will develop leadership skills.

"We're looking for an exciting year and one full of activities," continued Massey.

Being the sophomore on the officer team, earned Talon Bell the right to wear the sombrero!
