

Mike's Garage, owned by Mike Kenney, located approximately 9 miles south of
Sulphur Springs, on Hwy-154, was the scene of a domestic violence incident, on
Friday morning, that ended in one woman being killed and her ex-husband
care-flighted to a Tyler hosptial.

A domestic violence incident escalated into a shooting at Mike's Garage, located apprroximately nine miles south of Sulphur Springs on State Hwy-154 near the Wood County line, on Friday morning. Around 9:45 a.m. a white female came to the garage and reportedly shot a man identified as Robert Allen McLarry, age 55. The man was said to have been shot in the face. The woman left the scene in a vehicle, heading south on Hwy-154.
The Hopkins County Sheriffs Department and member of the Yantis Volunteer Fire Dept. Paramedics responded to the call, arriving a the scene to find the victim needing immediate medical attention. They called for a helicopter from Tyler that landed in a nearby field and transported the victim to a Tyler hospital.
Meanwhile, the suspect, identified as the victim's estranged wife, Kimberly McLarry, age 47, was located at a residence across the county line on Wood County Road-1858. The suspect was still armed when approached by law enforcement personnel and reportedly pointed the gun at them. They responded with gunfire, shooting the suspect. Later the suspect was reported to have been killed from the gunfire.
The man was listed in critical condition in a Tyler hospital, upon arrival there.
