Casino Night Hosted at Senior Center,
Saturday Night

From Karon Weatherman

While most Hopkins County residents were out watching the hot air balloons, on Saturday night, senior citizens at the Hopkins County Senior Citizen's Center, were enjoying a night of fun and chance. The Hopkins County Marketer's Association hosted "Casino Night" and invited all the senior citizens in the county to come and enjoy a night of fun!

Prom Queen and King for the night were Virginia Fisher and
Don Crumley.

Games of poker, Black Jack, roulette, and other casino games were played, complete with Vegas-style dealers and the tables for the game. "Ace's Wild Casino" of Dallas provided the casino tables and the dealers.

"It was a great night of fun for everyone!" described Karon Weatherman, Director of the Center. "I think everyone had a great time and with everyone bringing finger foods, it made for a very enjoyable evening!"

Senior's could "cash-in" their winning "play money" for prizes, donated by local businesses and went home happy! According to Weatherman, there were over 80 prizes furnished by local merchants and organizations.

"It's something we'll definitely do again, after seeing how much fun everyone had!" continued Weatherman. "This was one of the most fun activities for everyone, all year!"

Everyone brought finger foods and enjoyed the food as well as the fellowship and fun!
