From Sulphur Bluff School
In recent elections, the Sulphur Bluff FFA has elected new officers for the 2010-11 year and are making plans to go the State FFA Convention in Corpus Christi, in July. Elected as new chapter officers were: Jeremy Coberley, president; Quince Duncan, vice-president; Kalen Halbert, secretary; Landon Overly, treasurer; Travis Allen, reporter; Jacob Mintz, sentinel; Rebecca Naylor, parliamentarian; and Hunter Vaughn, student advisor.
New Greenhand chapter officers for 2010-11 include: Meagan Coberley, president; Cheyenne Bryant, vice-president; Shelby Williams, secretary; Lance Kitchens, reporter, Landon Dorner, treasurer; Erin Zeringue, sentinel; and Casey Gore, student advisor. The Greenhand Chapter enjoyed an 8th Grade Water Fun Day, where members swam and enjoyed a day of relaxation.

Meanwhile, new chapter vice-president, freshman, Quincie Duncan, has been chosen to attend the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C., on June 15-20, and will be representing the Sulphur Bluff FFA Chapter. The event will feature leadership involvement and address such topics as valuing people, knowing your purpose, building your personal plan of action, making your plan a reality, and living to serve. Quincy will fly to Ronald Reagan Airport in Alexandria, Virginia. This will be her first big trip on her own and to fly. However, it may be something "genetic" as her grandfather, Pat Potts, made this same trip to Washington D.C. with the FFA when he was a young man.

Sulphur Bluff FFA member, Quincie Duncan, will be representing her FFA chapter and
Hopkins County, at the National FFA Leadership Conference in Washington D.C., June 15-20th.
Quincie is the daughter of Jerry Duncan and Lori Duncan. While in Washington D.C., she will tour the city at night, visiting historic sites, including the national monuments, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Reagan Center. She has been invited to congressional visit one the lawn of the White House and will have the opportunity to meet and visit with her senator and representative.

Quincie has been a member of the Sulphur Bluff FFA, since the 6th grade, and has shown goats for four years. She has also participated in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in ag mechanics and livestock showing. Congratulations to Quincie!!!
