Sulphur Bluff FCCLA
Attends PJC Leadership Workshop
From Sulphur Bluff ISD
On this past Tuesday, the Sulphur Bluff FCCLA members participated in a leadership workshop at Paris Junior College. They attended four different sessions, including: The Little Things, Teens in the Driver's Seat, Personality Profile, and What's in/What's Out. In The Little Things session they learned about all the little things that matter in the workplace and every day life. In Teens in the Driver's Seat, we learned about safety and in the Personality Profile session they learned what their personality was and what it entails. There were four different profiles...a lion, otter, golden retriever, and beaver. A few of the members were actually a combination of two of the personality traits, for example, Michelle and Minerva were "lotters" (lions and otters).
The last session What's in/What's out was about teen fashion. They learned about fashion making a "circle," timeless fashions, and how to dress for a job interview. All members participated in different tests and received either gold, silver, or bronze stars, with most of the Sulphur Bluff students receiving gold stars.
Students expessed that throughout the training workshop they became closser friends and grew stronger, as well as making friends with students from other schools that they met. They also learned valuable leadership skills that will help them today, tomorrow, and in the future, that can be applied at school and in life.
