Santa Makes Appearance in Yantis
on Saturday
by: Bobby McDonald
It didn't take long for a line to appear as Santa Claus made a surprise visit in Yantis, on Saturday morning, about 10:00. He "jumped off" his sleigh at the Yantis City Hall and encouraged children to sit on his knee and donated canned good for the Yantis Food Drive. Hot chocolate, cookies, and punch were available, as well as having your picture made with the "jolly ol' elf" himself.

Kathryn Burnett brought her dog to see Santa Claus and even encouraged him to do a few tricks!
"We collected a number of canned goods and every one had a great time, having their picture made with Santa Claus," reported Tonya Norris, City Secretary. "I think I've met Santa Claus before, because he sounded an awful like someone I have heard before. But, maybe I was mistaken!"

Santa promised all of the good boys and girls in Yantis, that he'd be coming back on Christmas Eve and that they needed to be on their "best behavior" from now until Christmas. "I'll be watching you!" warned Santa. "But, I'm sure that all of you will be 'little angels' between now and Christmas!"
