Veteran Sulphur Springs Community Player Actor, Russell "Russ" Korth, passed away on Monday afternoon, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, from an apparent heart attack. Russ was 72 years old and was a member of the cast of "It's A Wonderful Life Radio," that is currently playing at Main Street Theater. He performed in the Saturday night performance and had no apparent health problems at the time.

"We're still in shock!" exclaimed current production director, David Woody. "We just learned about his death a few moments ago, and still can't believe it's happened!"

"As of now, we plan to go on with the production, beginning Thursday night, as scheduled, and I will assume Russ's role, and we'll dedicate the last three performances to him," continued Woody. "I still can't believe it's happened, but Russ would have been the first to tell us to continue with the current production!"

Russ Korth, a local business owner, is survived by his wife, Donna Korth, and three children, Valerie and husband, Rob; Correna Korth; and Trevor Korth. He is also survived by two grandchildren.

"It's left a hole in the hearts of all of us!" declared Woody. "We're just like a family and all work together closely at Main Street Theater, as we rehearse, perform, build sets, and do all the jobs that have to be done, for a performance."

Korth was one of the main characters in "Twelve Angry Men," wrote and performed in the play, "Gotcha," and played a number of other roles, as he was a regular for many years at Main Street Theater.

Funeral arrangements are pending with West Oaks Funeral Home.
