Texas State Quilt
To Be Featured At
LouViney Winery
by: Bobby McDonald
You're certain to want to make the trip to LouViney Winery & Restaurant, on Main Street, to view the beautiful Texas Department of Agriculture Quilt, "Toast a Rising Star." The quilt features quilt blocks that were designed by quilters all across the state of Texas, for the annual quilt that is sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
This year's quilt, "toasted" the Wine Industry in Texas, and honors the state as being the 5th largest wine producing state in the nation, with over 3,100 acres in production and an annual revenue in excess of $1.35 billion dollars.

Three local quilters, Deanna Hasten of Cumby, Dianna McGregor of Pickton, and Wilma Moss of Sulphur Springs,
have a block on the quilt, which is quite an honor for a local quilting group, competing with quilters from all across the state of Texas.
The quilt was first displayed at the Texas Department of Agriculutre exhibit at the State Fair of Texas, last fall. But, the beautiful quilt is coming to our own LouViney Winery and will be exhibited from 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 13th, thru 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14th.
Make this one of your "to do" things for the upcoming weekend!
