Rock Creek Health & Rehab Sponsors
Pumpkin Decorating Contest, Wednesday

Rock Creek Health & Rehab staff member, Tommy Camp, left, and resident Gerald Ledbetter, joined
forces and decorated this pumpkin to win Wednesday's contest.

They came in all shapes and sizes, but residents and staff of Rock Creek Health and Rehab Center had a day of fun, as they decorated pumpkins for the season and had them on display for judges, Wednesday afternoon.

Selected to judge the difficult task were Karon Weatherman, Director of the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center; John Pollard with Marketing for Bluebonnet Hospice; and Bobby McDonald, with Front Porch News Texas. "It was difficult to choose a winner, with so many great choices," expressed Weatherman. "I hardly know where to start!"

Rock Creek Health and Rehab resident Dovie Loyd, and staff member, Sonya Cordell, decorated the pumpkin in
the center, that took second prize in Wednesday's contest.

Selected on its delicate carvings and difficulty of workmanship, was the entry of staff member Tommy Camp and resident Gerald Ledbetter, who won first place with their entry.

Second place in the difficult decisions was the entry of staff member Sonya Cordell and resident Dovie Loyd, and winning third prize was the pumpkins designed as an angel, crafted by staff member Shalina Richeson and resident Dorothy Ponder.

Dorothy Ponder, a resident at Rock Creek Health & Rehab Center, poses with her  third place pumpkin,
in Wednesday's contest, that she and staff member, Shalina Richaeson, crafted as an angel.

"It was a great project, that everyone enjoyed!" exclaimed Stacey Wetzel, Activity Director for Rock Creek Health and Rehab Center. "We're always looking for way to share the holidays and create fun and entertainment for our residents!"
