Graduates Cadets

Local Justice of the Peace, Yvonne King, center, was the featured speaker at Friday night's
graduation ceremonies.
Friday night at 6:30 p.m., in ceremonies at The Way Bible Church, located on Fm-2560, twenty-one cadets received their Peace Officer Certifications, after months of agility drills, studying, and testing. And, unique to this class, all individuals in the class passed the State Certification and finished the course, according to instructor, Andy Chester.
Friday night's ceremonies featured Hopkins County Justice of the Peace, Yvonne King, as the speaker, and was attended by family and friends of the cadets. Certificates were presented by Chester, East Texas Police Academy Director, Brian Ruthven, and Instructor, Les Ferguson.

Those receiving their certifications included: Walter Bauer, Carmen Benson, Jr., Ryan Brown, Paul Chandler, Justin Darrow, Johnny Deas, Cody Dixon, James William Hall, Aaron Huddleston, Jeremy Jones, Colton Lee, Christopher Legget, Kevin Lester, Christopher Nutt, Angelica Perez, Jeff Richardson, Laura Ruiz-Sandoval, Robert Stout, David Wallace, David Wallace, Jr., and Connie Wolf.
The local academy is a training facility for basic peace officer courses and is affiliated with the East Texas Police Academy at Kilgore College.

Each cadet received their Basic Peace Officers Certification.
