

Workers’ Compensation Overview for Employers Seminar Offered in Paris on September 29th

The Paris Small Business Development Center will sponsor an educational seminar for employers, business owners, business managers, human resource managers, health and safety officers and insurance professionals entitled Workers’ Compensation Overview for Texas Employers on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The seminar is presented by the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (TDI-DWC). The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2400 Clarksville St, The Bobby R. Walters Workforce Training Center, West Entrance in Paris, Texas. The cost is $99 per person.
The educational seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the Texas workers’ compensation system and discussion of the Return-to-Work program. The educational seminar will provide information on the following topics:
roles and responsibilities of system participants;
functions of the Office of Injured Employee Counsel;
functions and services provided by the TDI-DWC to system participants;
examination of medical and income benefits in a claim and the process of resolving disputes about those benefits; and
how to successfully return employees to work after a workplace injury.
Instructor: Danny Taylor, Texas Department of Insurance- Division of Workers’ Compensation.
TDI-DWC will provide six general insurance continuing education credits. Attendees must provide their license number at the seminar to receive credits.
