PJC Press Release
Paris Junior College Theatre Department Presents Romantic Comedy
“Sylvia”
Found in a park one day by Greg, who is supposed to be at work,
streetwise dog Sylvia is adopted and she turns into a full-blown mid-
life crisis affecting both his career and 20-year marriage. This
play by A.R. Gurney explores a long, happy marriage facing big
changes. The couple’s children have gone off to college and they are
expecting to enjoy new freedom.
“Sylvia becomes a very funny bone of contention between husband and
wife,” says Drama Instructor Alex Peevy. “Our students have worked
hard to bring the play to life and look forward to presenting it to
the community. I promise you will laugh – a lot.”
Will Sylvia still have a home after the heart-wrenching battle in the
final scene? Come see the PJC Players perform to find out!
Performances will be presented at the Ray Karrer Theatre Fridays and
Saturdays, October 2-3 and October 9-10 at 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday,
October 11 at 2:00 p.m. General admission is $5 or free with a PJC
ID. Parental guidance for mild adult content is advised.
