PJC Sets Commencements

More than 500 candidates have applied for graduation on 
Friday of next week at Paris Junior College.
             That means the college is expecting a record-breaking 
graduation ceremony, according to Rita Tapp, Registrar.
             Commencement exercises begin at 8 p.m. in Noyes Stadium 
on the PJC campus.
In case of severe weather, ceremonies will move to the Hunt Physical 
Education Center,
And an announcement will be made on radio stations in the area by 
noon on that Friday, May 8.  Notice will also be posted on the PJC 
website at www.parisjc.edu.
             During the ceremonies a graduate will be awarded the 
Distinguished Service Award.  The 2009 Master Teacher will also be 
recognized.
             At the conclusion of the ceremonies, a reception for all 
graduates, their family and friends will be held on the tennis courts 
adjacent to Noyes Stadium.

GED Students To Graduate

 

The Adult Education and Family Literacy Department at 
Paris Junior College will hold GED graduation ceremonies for the 71 
students who have successfully completed the required courses during 
the past year, according to Louisa Kessel, Director.
             Ceremonies will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, in 
the Ray Karrer Theater in the Administration Building on the PJC 
campus. The keynote speaker will be Kathy Floyd, MA LPC, Board 
Certified Christian Counselor.
             Two college scholarship winners will be announced as 
well as the graduates who have qualified for the National Adult 
Education Honor Society induction.
             Friends and family members are invited to attend the 
ceremonies.
             Students who have not yet applied for graduation should 
contact the Adult Education Department by calling 903-782-0424 as 
soon as possible.
             A reception for those attending will be held immediately 
following the ceremonies.
