Pilot Club Hears Program on
Autumn and Christmas Fashions
by: Bobby McDonald
Tables at Friday's Pilot Club meeting "set the mood" for the program on Autumn fashions.
With "a million" things going on around Sulphur Springs at noon on Friday, it was several members of the Sulphur Springs Pilot Club that were late, but made it to the monthly meeting in the First Presbyterian Church Anex. President Charlotte Baxter called the meeting to order and a number of regular reports were heard, as well as a full report on the success of Thursday's Alzheimer's Walk to support Terrific Tuesdays.
Pilot Club members visited and enjoyed lunch prior to the style show.
Carrie Crowson, owner of Lou Nell's Fashions, presented the program, Friday.
Next, Baxter introduced the program for the meeting, as she brought Carrie Crowson, of Lou Nell's Fashions to the podium. Carrie introduced herself and began updating those present on the popular clothing and accessories for Autumn and Winter, this year. She indicated that Royal Blue, Zebra Prints, and Black mixed with bright colors were "all the rage" this season. "It's great to add bright colors in the jewel tones, beneath black jackets!" expressed Crowson. "And, cardigan sweaters are very, very popular, in the blacks, and worn with a variety of bright colors!"

As the models (three members of the club) made their way "down the runway" for a style show of some of the fashions at Lou Nell's, Carrie discussed each outfit and offered ways to incorporate them into the wardrobe. She also introduced "Bagala Beads" that are popular this season. "They are from Uganda and are made exclusively of recycled paper," expressed Carrie. "Bagala means 'love' in Uganada and the line is called 'Recycled Love,' and can be purchased at our store, for a fashion accessory to almost any outfit!"
Carrie Crowson ended her program with a "sneak peek" of the Christmas fashions that she announced had just begun to arrive at her store.
The members of the Pilot Club thanked Crowson for her outstanding program and two lucky club members were awarded door prizes from Lou Nell's.
