No, You Weren't Imagining Things
On Friday, When You Crossed Lake Fork

Those Yantis Owl fans, that made the trip to Hawkins on Friday afternoon, were greeted with an "unusual" sight, as they crossed the long bridge on Highway 154-South. Pelicans had landed on Lake Fork near the bridge and created quite an interest for motorists, as they passed by.

The state bird of neighboring Louisiana, had many people stopping and taking pictures and gazing at them as they floated near the bridge.

Pelicans land in this area, on large bodies of water, as they migrate back toward the coastal areas of Texas and Louisiana.

With snow predicted for Tuesday in this area, they may have "pulled their trip just a little bit green," and might be moving on to warmer climates further south!

Regardless, the large white birds, with the "pockets" on their bills, made for quite a sight on Lake Fork, Friday afternoon!

Maybe they didn't get any of the Crappie that anglers will be fishing for this weekend, as Lake Fork hosts a large Crappie Tournament!
