SSHS One-Act Play to Perform Thursday
Night, in Preparation For Area Contest
Press Release from Drama Dept.
If you've missed the local performances of the Sulphur Springs High School Drama Department's One-Act Play, you're certain to want to mark you calendar for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 9th, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Auditorium. This will be a local performance in preparation for Saturday's Area UIL Competition, where the play will be performed in Whitehouse, at 3:30 p.m.
"We wanted to present the play to the local audiences one more time, before the Area Contest," explained Director Dawn Doyle. "The interaction of the audience helps the cast and crew with their preparations and just makes us that more focused on the competition on Saturday!"
The play won first place in District competition last week and is hopefully headed for state. If you've seen the play already, you know the hours of work and dedication that it has taken on the part of the cast and crew. Very aptly done and professional in every way, the play captures the audience and does an outstanding job of using costuming and props to enhance the theme.
Saturday's presentation in Whitehouse will determine if the play advances to state UIL competition, so come out and support this group of dedicated students, who have worked so hard!
