It was a great day for members of the North Hopkins Volunteer Fire Department, on Saturday afternoon, when they officially "cut the ribbon" on the new fire department building and station, located on Hwy-71, east of Highway-19, and behind Joe Bob's. The new station represents a number of fundraisers, hours of hard work, and efforts to provide fire protection to those located in the Northern part of Hopkins County.

The station will house equipment, vehicles, and paraphenalia that is needed to operate the local volunteer unit.

Friends, family members, and community residents joined members of the North Hopkins Unit, on Saturday afternoon, for a celebration BBQ and "christening" of the new station.

Also, members will be actively involved in the "Hot August Night" activities, that are slated for this weekend at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, where they will compete with other county fire departments, in events and cooking BBQ for the benefit, that aids all local volunteer units. Members of the North Hopkins Volunteer Fire Department invite everyone out in support of local fire protection and to join them in the great food and concert entertainment!
