FIFTH GRADE WINS THE PENNY WAR!!!!!!

            Intermediate grades 4 thru 6 at North Hopkins ISD participated in a Penny War to help raise money for charity. The students have been collecting pennies since October. The winner of the contest will use the money collected from all three classes to go towards a charity of their choice. The fifth grade will be going to Wal-Mart the afternoon of Friday, December 11th, to buy canned and dry goods for the Feed the Need food pantry located at the CAN Help building on Gilmer Street. Feed the Need is a new mission project of Central Baptist Church.

The fifth grade raised 117.4 pounds of pennies, which is about $58. Sixth grades raised 114.2 pounds, which is about $ 57 and the fourth grade raised 110 pounds, which is $55.

            The Intermediate grade teachers would like to thank all of the students, parents and friends that contributed pennies for our contest. Because of you, many families will have food during the Christmas season.
