NETLA Organization Elects
New Officers
by: Bobby McDonald
With hardly the dust settled on the 2010 NETLA Youth Market Show, the organization met on Monday night, in the Sulphur Springs Vocational Agriculture Building, for a "re-cap" of this year's show and began making plans for an even bigger and more successful show in 2011. The meeting was to celebrate the successes of this year's event and to elect a slate of officers to continue the work of the organization in providing an outlet for local youth to exhibit their market animals in a county show and sell them in the Sale of Champions.
Elected as officers for the coming year were:
President - Kevin Gibson
Secretary - Amber Norris
Treasure - Dena Emerson
Steer Sup. - Kevin Melton
Swine Sup. - Chuck Askins
Lamb & Goat Sup. - Guy Norris
Heifer Sup. - Troy Emerson
Broiler Sup. Johnny Lennon
Dairy Sup. Amy Bowen
Comptroller - Amy Sells
"I'm excited about Kevin Gibson taking over as the president of the organization for 2010-11," expressed Eddie Lampp, retiring president of the organization. "Kevin will do a great job and has a great group of people working with him, so the organization will thrive under his leadership. Kevin has been a part of the organization for all of his life and has a real passion for providing the youth of Hopkins County with this avenue to exel!"
"I'm kind of looking for a little bit of time to relax, after the last two years, as president and a 'stint' as vice-president, before that," continued Lampp. "My youngest daughter is a senior, so I'm wanting to spend some quality family time with her as we look at college and having some time to enjoy these last few weeks of her senior year!"
