The Sulphur Springs Community Players opened this week for a two-week run of their autumn production of Giovanna and Charles Knox Robinson's "Murder For Rent." The play will continue thru next weekend, being offered nightly, again on September 30th, October 1st, and October 2nd, at Main Street Theater. Productions begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature a "lively" cast of characters, many who you have seen in previous productions.
"Murder For Rent" is directed by Steve Janway, with Mike Dodd serving as the Assistant Director. Sherrie France serves as Stage Manager and Kathy Cook is the Sound and Lighting Technician.

Cast members include:
Lauren Cook as Susannah Whittaker
Megan Salters as Molly Tobin
Leslie Horne as "5B"
Andi France as Gus
Canyon Sickles as Harry Walker Bradshaw
Steve Janway as John Townsend
Andi France as the Delivery Man
Betty Green as Flora

"Murder For Rent" is a two act play, featuring a 15 minute intermission between acts. The comedy is described as follows:
"Pretty United Nations interpreter Susannah Whittaker is thrilled to get the apartment of her dreams, but she quickly discovers that the amenities include terrifying break ins, bizarre phone calls, a bewildering romance . . . and homicide. Her sexy roommate Molly has her wildly egotistical boyfriend move in and an ever appearing, zany neighbor conspires to forestall disaster. A tawdry stranger arrives, compounding the mystery. When an angry landlord threatens eviction, he is the first to be murdered. Susannah finds herself strongly attracted to an arcane visitor before the apartment's deadly secret and the murderer are finally revealed.
"A highly successful who dun it, with lots of dead bodies and a charming romance."
