With it raining on Saturday night, the youth of Morning Chapel Baptist Church met members and guests at
their automobile with umbrellas.

It may have been "pouring down" rain, in Sulphur Springs, but those "dressed to the nines" and headed to Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, needn't worry about getting wet, as the youth of the church provided "valet umbrella" services, as you arrived. Saturday night's Black Tie, 15th Anniversary Seasoned Saints Banquet featured a gala evening of entertainment and fun for the elderly members of the church, celebrating their faith and example.

The Seasoned Saints of Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church were the guests of honor at Saturday night's banquet.

Joan Kelly Johnson served as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the 7:30 p.m. banquet, and opened the evening with the singing of We've Come This Far by Faith. Sister Bennie Berry read the scripture. Brother Curtis Peoples offered the opening prayer and Sister Christine Askew gave the welcome. Sister Ester Crook lead the group in a Memorial Period and Pastor Harold Nash offered the blessing of the food.

A wonderful meal followed, served by younger members of the congregation.

Members of the congregations prepared and served the wonderful meal, on Saturday night.

Sister Gueyula Watson introduced the speaker for the evening, Sister Marcie Porter. Sister Porter kept the audience spellbound as she revealed lessons in faith and practical applications of faith in the every day life.

President Eldon Ford then gave brief remarks, as Sister Gloria Franklin prepared to award door prizes.

Another verse of We've Come This Far By Faith was sung and Pastor Harold Nash ended the beautiful evening with brief remarks and benediction prayer.

We've come this far by faith
Leaning on the Lord
Trusting in His Holy Word
He's never failed me yet
Oh, Oh, OH, can't turn around
We've come this far by faith
Don't be discouraged when troubles in your life.
He'll bear your burdens, and move all misery and strife.
That's why we've come this far by faith,
Leaning on the Lord.
Trusting in His Holy Word.
He's never failed me yet.
Oh, Oh, Oh, can't turn around.
We've come this far by faith.
