Thursday morning was a long awaited day for Sulphur Springs High School senior, MacKenzie Morgan, who signed a letter of intent to play softball for Providence College, in Providence, Rhode Island. The standout on the Lady Wildcat Softball Team said that this "dream" began when she was six years old and began playing here in Sulphur Springs. Providence College had contacted Morgan for an official visit and she and her mother and grandmother, flew to Rhode Island back in September. "Once I went to the college and met the coaches, visited with the players, and toured the school, I knew it was a perfect fit for me!" declared Morgan. "This is just what I've been hoping for, and even though it's a long way from Sulphur Springs, they are a great academic school and I can get a quality education while I enjoy playing softball!"

Coach Greg Owens shows MacKenzie where to sign, as her parents and little sister "look on."

Morgan, the daughter of Barry and Francis Charlton, was joined by her parents, and grandparents, Tim and Pat Tolson and Julie Miller, as well as many friends, on Thursday morning, in the Wildcat Room at Sulphur Springs High School, for the official signing.

This is wishing Morgan a successful college career, and a successful season in 2010 at Sulphur Springs, to complete her senior year!

Friends, family, and coaches, join MacKenzie Morgan, to congratulate her on signing a  letter
of intent to play softball for Providence College.
