Miller Grove Announces
Class of 2010

 

Miller Grove High School announces the Class of 2010. The Class will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas on June 4, 2010, in the Miller Grove High School Gymnasium. Baccalaureate Services will be conducted at Miller Grove United Methodist Church, on Sunday, May 30, at 6:00 p.m.

Leading the Class of 2010, is Class Valedictiorian, Chance Lee, the son of Keith and Vicki Lee, of Miller Grove. He has attended Miller Grove School since the first grade and is the brother of Chase, Chandler, and Chandra Lee. Throughout his high school career he has participated in cross country, track, baseball, and basketball. He is an active member of the Miller Grove FFA and has competed in various agricultural judging team events, shown livestock, and been an FFA Officer for the past three years. He has been in One Act Play and competed in Academic UIL. Following graduation he plans to pursue a business degree at the University of Texas-Tyler.

Class Salutatorian is Thomas Renshaw, the son of Melissa Johnson and Philip Renshaw. He has attended Miller Grove School for the past four years and has been actively involved in FFA throughout high school. He has built trailers in Ag Mechanics for the past two years, exhibiting them at the Houston Livestock Show. He has been an FFA Officer for the past three years and served the chapter as Vice-President and President and Area VI as an Area Officer. Thomas has been manager of the Miller Grove Hornets Boys Basketball Team for the past three years. After graduation, Thomas plans to attend Texas Tech University and study for an architectural degree.

Junior High Graduation exercises at Miller Grove School will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., June 3, 2010, in the High School Gymnasium.

Leading the 2010 8th Grade Class as valedictorian is Mark Allen. Mark is the son of Wendell and Marki Allen, of the County Line Community. He has two younger siblings, a brother and sister. He plays basketball for Miller Grove School, but also enjoys baseball and golf for recreation. He attends Brashear Baptist Church.

Class Co-Salutatorians include Nathan George and Patrick Covington. Nathan is the son of Clint and Traci George and brother of Jacob George. He is the grandson of Glen and Carolyn George, all of Brashear. He enjoys playing baseball, basketball, and golf. He is also involved in the Miller Grove FFA Chapter, showing animals. Patrick is the son of John and Merry Covington and the brother of Jarrett and Noah Covington. He plays baseball and basketball at Miller Grove School and is playing for a select baseball team, this year. He attends Divide and Elm Churches.
