Sulphur Springs Law Enforcement Officers were on-hand Saturday to visit with those
who attended the family fun event.

Despite some summertime temperatures, on Saturday, the Sulphur Springs Sheriff's Department "Meet and Greet," attracted a crowd of local residents, intent on having some family fun and enjoying hamburgers and hot dogs. Shade was provided and a number of family games, bounce houses, a horseshoe set-up, cake walk, and a dunkin' booth provided for a great day of fun!

The "coolest" job in town on Saturday was the Dunkin' Booth at the Law Enforcement "Meet and Greet"

"The guy in the dunkin' booth looks like he's got the best job in town," exclaimed one of the Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputies, as he watched his fellow officer dive into the water. "But, you want to make sure you volunteer at an event in June, instead of one in November!"

Saturday's event was planned by the Local Hopkins County Sheriff's Department, in cooperation with the East Texas Police Academy, in an effort to let local residents meet the officers and get to know them on a personal basis. "We want the public to understand that we're just out there doing our jobs and seldom do many of them get to meet us, unless we're making an arrest or aiding in a car accident, and those aren't the perfect ways to meet us!" exclaimed one of the event organizers. "You get to know us much, much better when you're playing a game of horseshoes with us, or sitting down and enjoying a hamburger!"

Alli Crump, daughter of Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputy, Tanner Crump,
attended Saturday's event with her family.

Local officers cooked the burgers and hot dogs, provided drinks, and desserts and welcomed the public to Saturday's event.

Horseshoes....

A cake walk....

Bounce houses....

"This was hopefully an opportunity for the adults, and especially the children to learn that we are here to help and serve, and are 'real' people, with real families, and a real interest in this community!" expressed Hopkins County Sheriff Butch Adams. "My officers are a hardworking group of people with the interest of everyone in Hopkins County at heart!"

A great day of family fun!!!!
