Update on Found Camera
in Lake Fork
by: Bobby McDonald
"It's just amazing what can be done with modern technology!" exclaimed Ramy Jisha, as she told us about the photographs and video she and her husband, Kent, were able to recover from the camera that had been in Lake Fork for approximately 10 months. "It's a miracle that the camera was found and then that we were able to get the pictures off the camera and have the photographs of our lost daughter!"
As we reported, the camera was in the vehicle driven by the Jishas, in December 2008, when the vehicle hit ice on the Lake Fork Bridge, and plunged into the waters of Lake Fork. Kent, Ramy, and Alanna Jisha were all in the vehicle as it hit the icy water. Alanna Jisha, buckled in her infant seat, perished in the tragic accident.
Ramy Jisha's camera was also in the vehicle, recording the last months of Alanna's life, but floated out of the vehicle into Lake Fork. And, earlier this autumn, a fisherman on Lake Fork, found the camera, badly damaged and covered in sand, on the banks of the lake.
The Jisha's were notified and took the camera to a forensic lab in Dallas and they were able to retrieve the photos and a video for the bereaved family!
"It's just an answer to loads and loads of prayer!" exclaimed Jisha in giving an explanation of the event. "You begin to think about the odds of the camera first being found, then being able to use modern technology to retrieve the photos, is beyond comprehension. It's definitely, 'A God Thing' that we have these treasured photographs and video of Alanna!"
The following video was retrieved from the lost camera
