Season to Large Crowd

It was the annual lighting of the "Lights of Life Christmas Tree," on Thursday night, amidst speeches, entertainment by the SSHS Jazz Band and FUMC Kingdom Kids, a special "Doctor's Chorus," and the appearance of Santa Claus via an ambulance, that delighted the crowd of people, who attended in the Gardens at Memorial Hospital.

The evening began with special Christmas selections from the SSHS Jazz Band and a welcome and introduction by Jackie Thornton, Director of the Hospital Foundation. She introduced Michael McAndrews, CEO of Hopkins County Memorial Hosptial, who introduced key hospital personnel. Then, Thornton introduced Pam Sellers, Lights of Life Campaign Gala Chair, who spoke to the crowd and thanked sponsors, as well as introduced Mrs. Mary Bonham, whom has been selected as the Gala VIP, for this year. Bonham addressed the crowd and wished everyone a "Merry Christmas!"

"When will Santa Claus be here?"

The FUMC Kingdom Kids presented selections as well as the special "Doctor's Chorus," that makes their "one and only" annual appearance.

But, of course, the star of the show was Santa Claus, who arrived via a Hopkins County Memorial Ambulance and sounded a whole lot like someone we knew, maybe "Bubba Bonner?"

'I Believe!" said Patsy and Morris Bolton.

Regardless, the children in the crowd were ecstatic to see his arrival and formed a long, long line to chat with him and tell him what good boys and girls they had been!

All kinds of "sweet little darlings" lined-up to visit with Santa......

And, then the "rowdy" crowd showed up and had to do some convincing that they'd been
nice.....
