League Basketball Play Continues
For Local Teams Thru Summer
by: Bobby McDonald
While many in Hopkins County have "forgotten" about basketball action in the area, teams from many of the local schools continue to play in League Action, sharpening their skills and anticipating the fall season. Teams from Yantis, Commerce, CHESS, Como-Pickton, Saltillo, Boles, Sulphur Bluff, Union Hill, Miller Grove, North Hopkins, and Rains were in action on Tuesday night, at Miller Grove, where they continued some great basket ball action, as they work toward improvements and matched-play with other local teams. "It's a great way to stay in shape and to work on your shots, throughout the summer months," allowed Ty Davis, one of the players from Yantis. "It's good practice and you get to play with the other teams, developing friendships with all of the other players. We're all interested in playing and improving our skills!"

If you're a true basketball fan and follow the action of the rural schools in basketball throughout the season, you'll enjoy attending these games, as they are scheduled throughout the summer. Call one of your local team's members and they can advise you of the times and places for the action.
