Cumby Lady Trojans Take Area Championship
With 3-Set Win Over Price-Carlisle

A large crowd of Cumby Lady Trojans fans made their way to Hawkins, on Saturday night, for the Area Championship match-up between the Lady Trojans and the Price-Carlisle Lady Indians. The Lady Trojans showed why they are ranked #1 in the state standings, as they defeated the Lady Indians in three sets. From the outset, it was evident that the Lady Trojans were the more powerful team and had the advantage in handling the ball.

 

 

 

 

Winning the Area Championship pits the Lady Trojans against #3 Overton, on Tuesday night, at a destination to be announced on Monday morning. "There's a 'grudge' to settle between our girls and Overton, as they were the ones that beat us out in the Regional Quarterfinals last year, and hopefully that's going to make us play just that much harder on Tuesday night," allowed Coach Shelley Jones.
