The Saltillo Lady Lions "remembered last year," when they came to Van on Friday night, with the area match-up with Slocum. Slocum was the team that beat them in the same round of the play-offs last year and ruined their quest for a state title, so the Lady Lions were ready to play and eager to rectify last year's results.

Then during the second period they added 8 more point to their score, while only allowing Slocum 6 points. The Lady Lions led 23-15 at the halftime intermission.
