It was large crowds of friends, patrons, and parents, that flocked to the Main Street Theater, on Friday and Saturday night, to see the Children's Theater Production of James and the Giant Peach.

A talented group of children, that had participated in Amanda Thompson Brandenburg's Summer Children's Workshop, completed the cast of characters, with "a little help" from some "over-grown kids!"

Starring in the producting included: Sarah Harper, Elizabeth Russell, Joshua Thompson, as James, Shannon Lucas, Camri Price, Reilly Hale, Monica Mejia, as"the kid at heart," Lance Brandenburgh, as "the worm."

Amanda Thompson Brandenburgh directed the performance with Josh Bain and Linda Thompson serving as stage managers. Travis Hicks and Cooper Welch served as stage hands, and Stephaie Mejia was the sound director. Set design and construction was completed by Amanda and Lance Brandenburg, Linda Thompson, Reilly Hale, Josh Bain, Lauren Hargrove and Joseph McCorkle. Costume design was by Janice Hargrove, Linda Thomspon, and Sheila Hale.

A special thanks was extended to the following for special help with the production: Community Players, Joseph McCorkle, Michael Dodd, and Stephen Janway; Bro. Larry Keiss of the Church of the Nazarene; Megan Rascoe, Sulphur Springs Center for Dance; Janice Hargrove; Sheila Hale; Dawn Doyle, Sulphur Springs High School Drama Department; Linda Thompson; Josh Bain; Cooper Welch; Travis Hicks; and other volunteers, who worked tirelessly throughout the workshop.

If your child is interested in participating in next Summer's Children's Theater Workshop, they should contact the Local Community Players, via Main Street Theater.  "It's a great exprience and an introduction to the entire theater process, to develop interest among those who are interested in theater arts," advised Thompson-Brandenburg. "It's hard work, but loads of fun, for everyone!"
