Three Miller Grove students advanced to compete at the UIL State Speech Meet this spring. Cassidy Seaney and Margaret Smith competed in Prose after placing 1st and 2nd at the Regional Meet, an event where they choose pieces of literature to perform/read in a composed program. Margaret placed sixth in the competition. Jolee Fox competed in Lincoln Douglas debate after placing second at the Regional Meet. Each of these students should be proud of the accomplishment of making into the top 12 1A students to compete at the state level.
Margaret Smith also advanced to State in Piano Solo Ensemble and received a gold medal for her performance of Debussy’s Children’s Corner
