Acts 9:31
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.
The problem with being stuck in a box is that most people don’t realize they’re stuck. They’ve come to place of comfort and developed a false sense of security in their confinement. In the early days of Christianity the disciples were experiencing radical growth in the Church accompanied by miracles, signs and wonders. The problem however, was that they had allowed what God had used to bless them to actually incarcerate them. Jerusalem was where they had experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the 3000 salvations on the day of Pentecost, all the healings, all of their fellowship, and all of their gathering had taken place there. It wasn’t until persecution came and scattered them that the Gospel was actually carried outside of the ‘Jerusalem box’. Are you feeling like some people or things have been coming against you lately? Do the people that used to support you seem to be turning on you? Maybe it’s because it’s time to get out of your box. Many times, the issue is not with the people or circumstances around you but with the growing discontentment inside of you. While leaving the comfort and familiarity of what you’ve always known is difficult, the satisfaction and empowering that comes from stepping out by faith into the next thing God has for you will be more rewarding and fulfilling than you could ever imagine. The very thing that’s causing you discomfort may actually be the key that God is using to unlock the prison door that’s keeping you from moving into all that He has for you. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
