Sulphur Springs Resident Named 2019 Hunt Regional Healthcare Nurse of the Year

Michelle Stroud, RN, was named the 2019 Hunt Regional Healthcare Nurse of the Year this week. Michelle is a nurse in the telemetry east observation unit at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. A peer-selected award, each year Hunt Regional nurses choose one exceptional nurse to honor as Nurse of the Year during National Nurses Week.
The nomination is open to any RN or LVN that has been employed by Hunt Regional Healthcare for at least one year and who meets set performance standards. Chosen by popular vote, the award identifies stand-out nurses across the organization.
As part of the voting process, nurses are encouraged to comment about their selection. The overwhelming theme among Henderson’s votes was her willingness to assist those who need help.

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birth date of Florence Nightingale. It is one of the nation’s largest healthcare events, recognizing the contributions and commitments nurses make and educating the public about the significant work they perform.
